Brief Life History
Denzel was born in 1954 in Mount Vernon, New York & was 2nd amongst 3 children to a father belonged to a minister of a Pentecostal religious body & a beautician mother. His parents brought him up with an inquisitiveness to his brilliancy that he should have a career in journalism is the reason he was enrolled at Fordham University for doing his graduation in journalism after his Secondary Education. Since he had a liking of Fine Arts in the field of action plays was the reason of joining the course of stage acting simultaneously along with his graduation. His professional as well as personal life was too good & quite nice and was staying in Los Angeles with his wife, Pauletta Washington, and their 4 children.
Career & Works as a Film Actor
As soon as his graduation completed he moved to San Francisco and joined in the American Conservatory Theater. As he was well known for his magnificent personality he thought to seek a job of an actor and left ACT after one year. He was the First selected in films & T.V. Series industry in 1980 &1990 because he was tall highted, having versatile personality and powerful sexual appearance. He had got his First Big Screen Breakthrough in Carbon Copy (1981) costarring with George Segal.
In 1980s he had worked in both films and T.V. series and was selected for a highly desirable assignment i.e. Main role of Dr. Chandler in NBC's hit medical series "St. Elsewhere" (1982) that earned a high values in the society & a big fame which made that serial to remain continued for 6 years
Achievements
He won the Best Actor Award as Oscar Award for his literal Appearance and Character played in Portrait of Tripp in 1981 & the same Award for the runaway slave in Edward Zwick's powerful historical masterpiece “Glory” in 1989.
After this big victory he became Hollywood’s High Priced Actor , was getting $ 10 million/ film & umpteen no of big-budget productions came in his lot such as The Pelican Brief (1993), Philadelphia (1993) Crimson Tide (1995), The Preacher's Wife (1996) and Courage Under Fire (1996).
Being intelligent in action plays and to much précised for his work in films made him a Director & launched his own film with Antwone Fisher in 2002 .
