Storyline:

Director Neill Blomkamp teams with producer Peter Jackson for this story of alien refugees stranded in South Africa today. It has been 28 years since first contact was made by foreigners, but there has never been an attack from the sky, nor the revelation of profound technological capable of advancing our society. However, foreigners are treated as refugees. They were the last of their kind, and to welcome the government of South Africa set up a house property in the District 9 that politicians and world leaders on how to handle the situation. As humans begin to grow suspicious of the unwelcome intruder, a private company called Multi-National United (MNU) is responsible for monitoring foreigners. MNU but is less interested in foreign welfare of trying to understand how their weapons. If they manage to make this breakthrough, they receive huge profits to fund their research. Unfortunately, the highly advanced weapons requires foreign DNA to be enabled. When MNU operative field Wikus van der Merwe (Sharlto Copley) is exposed to biotechnology that causes DNA to mutate, the tensions between foreigners and the intensification of man. Wikus is the key to foreign technology, and it quickly became the most wanted man on the planet. Ostracized and isolated in retirement Wikus District 9 in a desperate attempt to shake his pursuers obstinacy.
