Veer Singh was struck by a thunderbolt when he sees Harleen for the first time. He travels a thousand miles by train to appear under his balcony just to get a glimpse of his face. Yet not to speak a word of it.

Veer does not understand how I can deal with matters of the heart, without passion, as a financial transaction. I do not understand how Veer Singh could be so naive and stupid on Harleen within days of his youth. But as the two stories take place, we realize that the process of the relationship may be different at different times, but the experience of being in love remains the same. So there are the frolic and despair of modern life, liberation and confusion. And there is the past - the time of innocence and coercion. And there is distance, and the condition that increases with distance. Gaps widen between two people, but also bridges are increasing.
